Sending DVDs / USB stick from South Pacific to EuropeCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Hi everyone, I'll be leaving for a trip to the South Pacific tomorrow and I'm wondering which country would be good for sending DVDs or a USB stick with a backup of travel pictures home to continental Europe. I could use either normal mail (if reliable enough) or a courier service and I'm looking for a balance between price, reliability, and speed of delivery (speed is less important though). Question: Which country in the South Pacific (except Cook Islands & French Polynesia) would be a good place to send a small parcel with DVDs/USB stick from? Am I guessing correctly that New Caledonia would probably be a good bet? How about Fiji as I'll be passing through there several times? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I'd do it from Fiji. New Caledonia happens to be the only place in the World from where a postcard I sent home never arrived... | 1
I second Fiji. Never been to New Caledonia, but after 15 trips to Fiji nothing has ever been lost or not delivered by the Fijian PO. | 2
Thanks Laszlo & Watsoff. Fiji would also be the most practical as I'll keep passing through there half a dozen times when visiting other islands on Air Pacific flights. Do you think its fine to just use regular mail or would you need EMS or another courier service? Any idea as to how long regular mail takes to continental Europe? | 3
Regular surface mail takes months (but has always arrived). | 4
Great, thanks! | 5 | |
