Solo travel in September

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi everyone,

Fiji is my first destination on a RTW ticket in September. I am travelling alone and i am looking for some advice to help me plan my trip.

Could anyone recommend hostels/hotels to stay?? Also any information about things to do and see would be great! I have read many books and looked on the internet so i have a rough idea...but any advice would be awesome.

It would be great to hear from anyone who has travelled to Fiji or even if you are planning to travel to Fiji in September!

Hi,
I know quiet a few hotels / hostels in Fiji but where exactly would like to go?
and what kind of accommodation are you looking for?

Most of the places I know are in the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands.

Ok, What to do?
First of all, anything related to water is on offer. Snorkeling is my favorite past time when I am there (on my own and also guided in a group) . But you can also take some day tours to islands and explore them, do some Kayak, organize a diving course or introduction, go on sailing trips, or just relax on the beach.

Island hoping is a good way to experience different environment, meet people and stay actives.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I was thinking firstly to spend a couple of days in and around Nadi to organise some diving and hostels in the Mamanucas...
I was thinking abvout going to Waya island and staying at the Octopus resort and doing quite a bit of diving while im there...have you been there?
