| ozziegiraffe12:18 UTC16 Dec 2010 | There are no passenger services between countries, although the Church of Melanesia ship, Southern Cross does do the crossing from Solomon Islands to Vanuatu every few years. Cargo ships travel between these countries, but I have never heard of anyone travelling as a passenger on these routes. Some cruise boats travel Australia-Vanuatu, but only stop briefly. Cruise ships from Australia to Solomon Islands are rare. The only other option would be to find a yacht that is travelling where you want to go, and needs crew. Best months for this are April to October, which is usually out of cyclone season. There is a yacht race between Cairns and Gizo in Western Solomon Islands that you could google.
