South Pacific - which island??Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
I am after a bit of help....i am looking to visit the South Pacific whilst i am in New Zealand. Having searched the internet they all look amazing, but can anyone recommend an island.....to be visited around November/December?? I know a lot of the islands have rainy season, is this just constant rain all day everyday, or just odd showers through the day and then the weather picks up? Also, cheap accomodation would be ideal!! Any suggestions will be appreciated!!
It would be helpful to everyone if you posted a list of requirements. | 1
To be honest I am looking for something quiet, sandy beaches would be nice, the snorkelling isn't essential. I am really just after somewhere simple, able to hire bicycles and head off around the island. Small shops and restaurants would be great, as i really don't want somewhere built up and touristy!! Thanks again for any information anyone can offer - and if anyone can shed any light about the rainy season i would appreciate it!! | 2
Since you will be in New Zealand, and seem to want somewhere small, the Cooks may be what you need. I've never been there, but friends recommend them highly. (You can check out a few recent threads here about accommodation, too.) | 3
I'd second the Cooks. Rarotonga would be a good suggestion, it has everything you are looking for. | 4
