Spearfishing/Freediving in PNG

Hey! I am interested in visiting PNG to spearfish. Is this possible? Where is it allowed? Are there any areas you could recommend to dive? If spearfishing isn't possible, I would just freedive. I can't find any maps of dive sites online or any information.

I am pretty sure there is no regulation on spearfishing on PNG, not one enfoced in practice anyway.
So you can probably do it anywhere, subject to permission by local landowners.
Obviously, if you choose to stay at a diveresort or similar tourist establishment, they may not be happy if you started killing fish on their housereef.
