Staying longer than 30days

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi,i was just wondering if anyone knew if it was enforced that you had to have a outward flight out of samoa when you land? I have no idea how long i want to go for you see as I have a tendancy to always extend my stays places and am fed up of changing flights. Also is the 30day stay strict or can you easily extend that, as went to fiji for 2weeks and ended up working there and staying for months. Thanks for any help x

oooooo yes same q's about tonga as plan to go to one then the other fed up of the cold in nz and have saved up a bit and ready to travel once more x

I'm pretty sure they checked for a return ticket when I went to Tonga. But it can be extended for several months.

For those thinking of going to the Cooks, it is very strictly enforced. No onward or return ticket, you get put back on the plane you came in on. If that has left, you may get put in jail for a day or two until the next flight out.

I had read that Samoa is also pretty strict on this, but I haven't been there.

They definitely checked my ticket in Samoa, and in fact gave me some hardship for the flight-out date being later than in a month.
I got around the latter by sayibng I was also going to American Samoa by sea, thus extending my stay.
