Stop off??

Hi

Im doing a kinda RTW trip and after Asia and before Auz/NZ I really want to stop off in the French Polynesia / Cook Islands / Solomon Island etc etc. We are looking for totally chilled out island, maybe some scuba/snorkelling, good exploring and great beaches. Just a cheap hostel near the beach.

Any ideas on islands / accomodation??

Check your world map. Most of Asia is closer to Austr./NZ than to the SP islands. However, if you are coming from Japan/Korea, you might be able to hit Fiji on the way to NZ, not positive though.

You can get to Solomon Islands from Papua New Guinea. There are quite a number of laid back places there, but I am not a scuba diver, so I can't advise where you could do that cheaply. I would have lots of suggestions for snorkelling, if you have your own gear.
