stopover in cook islands??Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
I was thinking of stopping over in the Cook Islands for a bit on my way to Australia from the US and have a few questions. It seems like getting from one island to another is quite expensive. Is everything pretty expensive? I am a poor teacher and am traveling on a budget. Any suggestions??
Hi Sam, I think you will find the Cook Islands to be reasonably inexpensive. Plenty of budget lodgings and restaurants, with reasonably priced bus transport around the main island of Rarotonga. Flights to neigboring islands are fairly expensive, with little options by sea. If you are limited to Rarotonga you will still have plenty to see and do, with a beautiful setting and friendly islanders. Have a great trip. Papa Mike | 1
