Thanks so much to all of those who have been so helpful in replying to my questions. Now, I have another inquiry. What time do the airport shops open in the morning (the ones outside of the security check)?

What time do the shops in Papeete open in the morning during the weekday? Restaurants? Does the market place open early for business?

Not positive, but I think the airport shops started opening about 7am. But there was always one open in the departure area itself for people leaving.

In Papeete--again, not sure, but a few may open at 7 or 7:30am.

The large semi-open market should open about 6 or 6:30am, from memory.

Other TT'ers may have more accurate info.

Yes, the market in Papeete opens very early. The flower vendors outside are the first to arrive if I remember correctly.
