Thing to do and see in Papua New Guinea

Hi I am traveling to Papua New Guinea on the 6th of October and I am wondering what there is to do there? I have limited fund i.e. I want to do as much as possible for a cheap as possible ;). I am also wondering about accommodation is camping an option? From what I have read and researched it seems really expensive to get around Papua and to do thing there. Would 1-2 week be enough, as I want to be in Thailand for Christmas and want to see Indonesia and Singapore and Malaysia. I don't like planning but it seem as though you might have to with Papua. Also is it cheaper to book thing in Papua or should I have everything booked before I get there. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
