Time To Ban Mutton Flaps-PNG Leads The Way

Anyone who's visited to South Pacific has seem/smelt/been revolted by the godawful excuse for food that people often eat- Mutton Flaps

Well now PNG is trying to do something about this abomination.

PNG SEEKS HELP IN BANNING MUTTON FLAPS
Asks cooperation of New Zealand

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, March 5, 2009) – The Health Minister of Papua New Guinea, Sasa Zibe, says his Government is going to call on New Zealand’s help to end the import of mutton flaps into the country.

Other Pacific countries, Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands have been critical of New Zealands export of the cheap meat, blaiming it for worsening obesity and diabetes.

The New Zealand government has previously said it doesn’t agree with banning the trade outright but that it would work with Pacific countries to improve the quality of the meat, to reduce the fat content of the mutton flaps and to reduce consumption of fatty meat products.

But Mr Zibe says his Government is planning a hefty import tax to discourage the trade and will ask New Zealand to help end the trade.

"Our NAC and the parliament are agreed that we will certainly do that. The best way to do this is to raise the import tax and we are going to place a very high import tax on this."

hardnose had contacted me once to warn me about the consumption of "Mutton flaps" and other horrific meat by-products that are so omnipresent in the Pacific islands. he also told me the sad story of his ensueing obesity from consuming them over the years and his weight loss journey.

They must be AVOIDED at all costs however tasty.... They are poisonous, life-shortening foods.

Turkey tails also need to be included in the roster....

Your distasteful even loathsome 'lifestyle choice'+ is just that-it's your choice to live in your +'alternate lifestyle' ghetto.

My choice is to avoid you/your ilk as much as possible for reasons that are self evident to anyone on my side of the fence.

Ma Ling (Chinese luncheon meat) should also be banned.
