Travel across the Pacific

I am looking for a route from Malaysia across to Galapagos Islands, traveling via the pacific islands of Tahiti etc, Could anyone recommend a possible travel route by boat or air?

Pretty broad Q, like asking how would one travel from London to australia.

Freighters would be almost impossible, few take passengers, esp. in the eastern part.

Yachts---maybe from NZ or austr. heading to the US. But only from May to October.

Flights. Hard to get around eastern SP. You'd have to get to NZ to get to the Cooks and Tahiti, unless you wnet New Cal to Tahiti.

From Tahiti to Galapagos---well, you'd have to fly to Santiago Chile via Easter Island, then up to Ecuador, then over to the Galapagos.

Or, fly to LAX and come back down to Galapagos.

Airfares---try an around the world ticket on Star Alliance or One World, but some spots may not be covered, they would need an extra ticket.
