Travel companion

Hi there,

I will be in PNG in 2 weeks and will stay for a month. Is anyone travelling around PNG in that time and keen to travel a bit together?

I will be around Port Moresby most of the time to do some reseach for my masters but would like to see as much as possible on extented weekend trips and in the last week and a half. I am quite adventurous, outdoors loving and interested in some active activities. However, all the warnings of travelling alone as a 26 yr old woman concern me and finding a travel companion would be ideal. I am relatively flexible where to go. So far, I have either hiking around Tari, Sepik River, diving in Milne Bay and visiting in Madang on my mind.

Hope to hear from someone! otherwise, has anyone any ideas where I could meet other travellers? I will be staying in a family in POM and according to the LP there are only 2-3 guesthouses in POM and it seems that not just travellers go there.

Hi. I live in Alotau in Milne Bay. You can get a cheap return to Alotau. Backpacker beds at Napatana Lodge anre K80 per night. They can organise your day dives and trekking and outward bound stuff and can introduce you to other fish/.dive/snorkel.outward bound people. Milne Bay is matrilineal and you will be perfectly sfae travelling alone provided you are culturally sensitive and stay with the people. Email me if you require further information. Gretta
