travel time to Bora Bora and Moorea

Greetings: I have a couple of specific questions about travel times. We'll be there around New Years Eve.

option 1: take the Sunday morning 8:45 flight from Papeete to Bora Bora. I think it lands at 9:35. If I am staying at, say, the Intercontinental Marara Beach on the main island, can I reasonable assume that I'll be at the resort by 10:30 or 11am? Trip advisor folks seem to like this one.

option 2: take the Sunday morning 7:30am fast ferry to Moorea. Should it arrive by 8:30? I am not sure where we will stay if we go to Moorea, but....

my main goal other than enjoying to idyllic vibe is some good snorkeling and, if possible, body surfing. I think Moorea offers the latter. I have heard about the great snorkeling in Bora Bora on the boart excursion from the Intercontinental.

I know the Intercontinental on Bora Bora is REALLY expensive. I was hoping to keep lodging to closer to $500 per night (still really a big splurge). Any good suggestions that have access to great snorkeling?

Our 5 days may be a once-in-a-lifetime visit, so any advice to help me make up my mind is most appreciated. I don't want to spend too much of our 5 days in transit. Thanks!
