Trekking Companies for the Kokoda TrailTrack

Hi everyone. Can you recommend and share your experiences of available trekking companies for the Kokoda Trail/Track (other than Kokoda Trekking)? I'm going on a trek with 3 others next year in April and would like to go with a reputable company that will look after us. We've already decided not to go with Kokoda Trekking because of numerous warnings from friends and family so we'd like to find out more about other companies. I heard that Thorn Tree has many members and isn't directly affiliated with any of the available companies so I should get a good lot of responses. :D

I have recently trekked Kokoda took me nearly two years from when I first thought of doing so until I actually stepped foot on the track.

I did an awful lot of research both on the net and even more so talking to those who had trekked previously with various trekking companies some two or three times.

I was originally going to trek with another company but after talking to many that had trekked with Kokoda Trekking Ltd KTL and all without one exception recommending it I took thier advice and booked with KTL.

I cannot comment on other companies as I did not trek with them but what I can say when I trek again and I will I most certainly will be going with KTL again as they and thier "Boys" all went way out of thier way to make sure that the adventure and experience was one that I would never forget.

I am full of praise not only for the company but also it's "Boys" who went way beyond what one would expect to look after not only myself but others within our trekking party.

From the previous message it would appear that someone may have had not such a good trek as I did pity as I assure all that mine certainly was one of the best and a highlight of my life.

Thanks Dinkum,
I havent done any research yet other than talk to a few people here in Darwin who have done the trip. Its always been in a social environment so details havent been issued only the pure satisfaction of completing the Trek.
I am looking forward to the challenge
