Tusitala Hotel in Apia burnt downCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
I don't see anybody mentioning this yet so thought it might be of interest to those who have been to Samoa. The Tusitala hotel burnt down yesterday.. It was closed for repairs by the new owners and all those new wood roofs just shot up in flames. You can see more at samoaobserver.ws Anybody watching Samoa Survivor on TV? It started tonight in the US. Samoa looked really beautiful
Oh yes, some beautiful shots of the Island. Actually, the scenery on most SURVIVORS is one of the main reasons we've been watching over the years, especially the South Pacific locations. | 1
I must say I was also impressed with the views of Samoa. Whatever people think of the show it is definitely great advertisement for these places. I have been to Vanuatu, The Cook Islands and Palau because of it, and now it looks like Samoa will be next on my list. | 2
Here in Samoa we cannot watch it ... Are we lucky or do we miss something? I hope it will at least attract some additional visitors. No clue about the fire at the Tusitala yet. It really is a pity because they had just refurbished the big fales and the new roofs looked really nice. And, btw, the number of accidents is still far below the figures before that switch of road driving side in Samoa. People are still a bit more careful at least. However there is concern about visitors from Australia and New Zealand. They drive like they are used to it from home (and we are not used to that yet, lol). There still is no sale of alcoholic beverages after 10pm and all clubs have to close at that time. That alone helps a lot. | 3
Wasn't the Tusitala the world's largest fale? | 4
