Vanautu has world’s first underwater post office?

When I was googling about the wonderful things in pacific islands..I came across with this article [Vanautu has world’s first underwater post office?http://www.wonderdiscovery.com/vanautu-worlds-first-underwater-post-office/) What I really don't get here is why would they make an underwater post office? There is no point right?

Just a tourist gimmick. I have snorkeled down to it but did not post a letter!!!!

Haha that's hilarious. I am currently looking at travelling to Vanuatu. How did you find the diving there @smandkjc?

We went out on the dive trips from Hideaway Island Resort but just snorkeled.
The snorkeling was very good and the people on the dive trips said the diving was good as well.
There has been a couple of Cyclones through since we were last there that may have affected the coral.

Its all just a thing to get the tourists in, it dragged us in.
Not that impressive but the snorkelling was fantastic1
