Vanuatu-3 days to kill!

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

HI all,

My wife and I are off to Vanuatu for a belated honeymoon on the 16th of Feb. Really excited. :) We are staying at Iririki on the 19th-25th but haven't booked in anywhere for the 3 days before that. As we are on a budget (which we've almost blown on Iririki), we're looking for somewhere relatively cheap. Doesn't have to be really basic, but maybe around maybe 80-100 AUD/night (even less, if not too decrepid).

We arrive in Port Vila in the morning- I've been thinking it might be nice to stay on Santo or Tanna (heard good things about Lonnoc).. any advice regarding this? We'd really love to do some relaxing, swimming, snorkeling, etc.

I hope this post is not too non-specific; we have tried to be relaxed about what we do there and take it as it comes - ie: speak to people when we arrive, but I'm thinking maybe wqe aren't being prepared enough. Any advice anyone can give would be very much appreciated.

Thanks alot, Adam.

You might want to check out the Air Vanuatu site to see if they have flights available to Tanna or Santo - these are quite popular and are often sold out. I would highly recommend Tanna as a side trip - visiting the volcano at Mt. Yasser was an awesome experience.
