VANUATU CORAL REEF

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Dear friends
I'm planning my summer trip to Vanuatu and I'l like to know by your experience if and where I could anjoy my snorkelling on the coral reef in Vanuatu.
In the last years I had great snorkelling in Yasawa,Tonga and Cook but I don't know about Vanuatu.
Beautiful beaches, volcanoes and happy and firendly people but what about coral reef?
Once agin thk a lot for your help
Adolfo

Being much closer to the Coral Triangle, the reefs of northern Vanuatu in particular are much richer in biodiversity than any of the places you've been to.

One of the best spots I have visited was Lonnoc (get a boat out to the bay), but there are many others.

Sorry for late post. If you are on a budget (aren't we all) try Hideaway Island (20 mins out of Vila) or better yet Lelepa Island (40 min bus from Vila then 1 hour boat). Neither will cost much and they are pretty spectacular.

If you want a dive, try Big Blue in Vila. Really great people, very safe and good gear!
