| avioncito10:55 UTC17 Jul 2012 | I'm visiting a Peace Corps volunteer who lives on Malekula the end of October. I fly into Norsup airport Oct 23,and fly out Oct 29. We're interested in doing the Manbush walk, but I think we need more info. From what I read at lonelyplanet.com, it's a 3 day hike, the last 2 days of which should be with a guide.
Can we hire the guides at villages along the way? For about how much money? Can we stay in tents (which we would bring with us?) Can we stay in villages? If so, does the village stay need to be arranged in advance, or do we just show up? Any idea how much it would cost to sleep in the village?
If we stay in the village, do we need to bring sleeping bags? Can a porter be hired if we want one to carry our tent(s) and sleeping bags if they are necessary? For about how much money? Also, from what I read, it's 3 days one way. Is there transportation at either end of the walk, or do we need 3 days to get back also?
