Vanuatu visa requirements

My friend and I are planning to travel to Vanuatu for more than 30 days in a few months. I have read that the visitor visa is only for 30 days and you need to apply for an extension in case you want to stay more. But I also have found in non official websites the visitor visa is for 90 days for some countries ( I have Italian passport and my friend Chilean). I'll be very grateful if someone could please give me more details about it, I've already tried to e-mail Vanuatu immigration department but I got all the e-mails back. Regards, Maria
