Vanuatu weather in March?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hello,
Has anyone visited Vanuatu in mid-March? How heavy is the rain, and is it all day or just short monsoon-style downpours? Any advice/experiences appreciated!
Cheers.

Hey Starboy.

I've been to Vanuatu in mid march 2010.That was just after a cyclone was over the area.I remember the first days in Santo beeing mostly greyish and wet, but there was sun, too.
Weather got better the longer the cyclone was over.I went to Epi next, that was mostly sunny and to Ambrym then, wich was more cloudy and rainy, but not comletely bad.
I didn't have any days where I didn't leave the hut, but it was more cloudy with rain here and there than blue sky.

Have fun.

...and as a little side note, I don't know what you are interested in, but I found Mt Marum on Ambrym pretty much the most spectacular thing I've seen.

Hi there

I live in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The weather in March is humid and hot, the rain when it comes is heavy and fast but it does not rain all day - can be often at night and fine during the day.

We run a tourist attraction in Port Vila - Blokart Vanuatu, our website www.blokartvanuatu.com - if you need any further information or contacts just drop me a line and would be happy to help you.

Cheers
Michelle
