Very good Pacific bookCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Have just finished reading a new Pacific book that came out in 2009. It is called "A Woman in the South Pacific" by Sheree Lipton. She is a photographer and journalist who has had much association with the South Pacific islands all her adult life. She started out as a young woman in the 60's...with fantasies of "Mutiny on the Bounty" but has presented a wonderful story on real life on Pacific islands with facinating glimpses into lives of Pacific personalities and her own. Nice to have a female view of things. Highly recommend the book to you Pacific book collectors. aloha
Thanks for that - I'll look for it. A few years ago I chanced on a book of hers "Fiji I love you, full speed" - intriguing title, which I bought and enjoyed. | 1
I was living in Pago when she came thru in mid '60's. I don't think she made much of an impact. | 2
