visiting Tonga with a child - recommendations?

Can anyone tell me where's good to stay with a 6 yr old in Tonga? Looking for somewhere near beach, kid friendly? Thanks!

Fly to Vava'u where it all happens-the main island of Tongatapu is flat, hot, dusty and altogether unremarkable.

Ha'apai has much nicer and more accessible beaches plus whale watching available, too. Diana's Resort on Uoleva would be my recommendation. Basic, but very clean beach fales on the most gorgeous beach you can imagine. It is set in a shelteres lagoon, good swimming and snorkeling and very safe for kids.
