Weather in the IslandsCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Checking on my Denver Weather Underground today I discovered that they list many many islands- including things like Tobi and Kapingamarangi. YIKES! Never would have occurred to me to look for the next 5 days weather in such places. Island Weather
ok- I thought it was pretty cool. Or is this well known and I'm just behind the times? | 1
Well, that's interesting! But of course, one cannot predict the weather in Kapingamarangi probably more than 5 hours in advance, as with most atolls, and even on Rarotonga! [unless there's a cyclone/hurricane coming] | 2
hey- I can predict the weather in Palau a year in advance- it will be 85 degrees, 85% humidity, the sea will be 85 degrees, and there'll be an 85% chance of rain in the afternoon. You wonder why they can't keep a weatherman? They die of boredom. The night we had an earthquake I called (what the hell- is this really an earthquake?) and they were so excited- the first thing new in months and months! | 3
and thanks Raro- I thought it was really neat. | 4
Waldos: Have you been to Kapingamarangi? | 5
yes- and many of the islands on the way from Pohnpei to Kapinga. The ship stops at about 5 little island groups. | 6
"For the life of a dawg, spend some time on Maug." | 7
did. in the middle of a typhoon. Got stuck there. But from where the quote? | 8
but there are several different places that sound like Maug. One is maug-maug. But have no idea of spelling. | 9
The Maug I'm mentioning is in the Northern Marianas. did you make it to that one? I read it may be deserted now. | 10
