We are thinking of getting married in Samoa next year in the july school hollidays. Does anyone have any recomendations of any sort accomodation, what to do etc. Thanks
Hi Helene You know, we get this question on here from time to time. Many folks come to get hitched in Samoa and have different expectations. Some want fancy dues with ice sculptures, all the trimmings and waiters in black ties... Some want barefoot, hippy weddings on the sand with an evening of drinking Vailima under the stars. From all the various answers that are given and the trickiness of trying to combine a fancy wedding with all the catering, looking after guests, etc. I have come to the conclusion that one's best option would be to do this through a travel agent...either in your home country or in Samoa. I would also research (using our friend Google) to find some options. Try some of the higher end resorts in Samoa (if this is where you are planning on staying and having your affair) and contact them to have them give you some options. I am sure they cater many weddings each year. Some of the ones I would suggest to try are Sinilei Resort, Coconuts, Aggie Gray's and the Sa'amoana. For example, we had a question earlier this year regarding someone who wanted a rather unique wedding... They assumed they could just go to a local village near the resort they would be staying at and have someone cater the affair. For the type of wedding they wanted, it sounded quite difficult. They were looking for a high-end experience for some things, but wanted cheap, beach-bum elements for other things as well... They wanted rustic but nice... so many things they wanted and they wanted options that were not available or really difficult to do in Samoa. I have no idea if they pulled it off or not... They never did get back to this site and let us know how their wedding went. Good luck! | 1
