What to do on 7 Hour Stopover in NADI, FIJI?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
I have a seven hour stopover in Nadi, Fiji when travelling from LAX to BNE.
There arent really good beaches in Nadi. For that youd ned to head to the Coral Coast - 45 min by cab or a nearby island - 45 min by boat (think South Sea Is). For a rest/sleep/shower, I suggest day use of a hotel at, say the Raffles (opposite the airport) and then a trip into Nadi town for the market, shops and meals. They also have a pool, bar , restaurant at that hotel. see - http://www.rafflesgateway.com/gateway/home.htm | 1
I'd head into Nadi town by bus or taxi and go to the little cafe which is also an ice cream shop. forget the name, but it's at one of the three or four main cross streets in town. Head to the market and see how creative you can be in avoiding the kava sellers and sword sellers! I'd then head back to one of the resorts at Denarau on their free shuttle (from the airport) or a bus/taxi. Nice beach to walk around, not that great for swimming. Get a drink at one of the bars with an indoor waterfall and admire the scenery. Then head back to the airport on their free shuttle. | 2
Good advice from Raro, except that I wouldnt avoid the Kava sellers, in fact buy some for about $1 a bag. You might also want some Fijian fresh tobacco, which is a sight to behold - looks like sausage ( cost about $2 for a piece about a foot long) I think I know the cafe that Raro refers to - Its on the corner of Hospital Rd and makes great curry. Have a coconut drink there too. | 3
