Where: Inexpensive, secluded, quiet beaches for a singleCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Hi all. First post in these very useful forums. I'm doing a two-month NZ+islands trip. It's first and foremost a big break from a busy lifestyle. I want to start off with maybe two weeks or a little more on islands nearby; so far I've been looking at Vanuatu, Cook Islands, and Fiji mostly. The first 10 days for me will be all about relaxation. Quiet, beaches, nothing much going on. I'm traveling alone and don't want to spend a fortune, but do want private accommodation. Recommendations of which country might be best, followed by specific island or accommodation suggestions? Also, after the initial quiet time I'm definitely up for some hikes, climbing/bouldering, or other adventures. Vanuatu seemed cool for this but I know there's lots of amazing things to see and do in NZ so I won't be lacking. :) Thanks!
As to Vanuatu, resorts tend to be expensive but for budget travellers check out positive earth http://www.positiveearth.org/bungalows/ which will give you lots of options. However you may be the only person staying in which case your friends will be the Nivanuatu who are a lovely people. | 1
