| bob197102:00 UTC20 Mar 2007 | Hi all Looking to take my first holiday since moving to NZ last year and want some island life. Looking at Rarotonga, Samoa, Fiji etc. Key criteria are peace and quiet, decent food, good snorkelling off the beach and preferably not full of families / young kids (sorry, first holiday with girlfriend and want it to be special - lame i know!). Budget for the pair of us is $3 - $4,000 NZ.
Spent a month traveling around the Yasawas in 04 so quite keen to try somewhere new.
Oh and looking to travel late June / early July time.
cheers Bob

The Cooks could also be good, but I personally never recommend Samoa for reasons outlined in the Samoa link in my signo line.

Blue water, great snorkelling off beaches and several good restaurants. I have stayed at Le Lagon a bit pricey but very nice and Kaiviti, much cheaper and nearly in the middle of town. Not much to buy, so you might save a bit, duty free grog is near the cheapest in the world at Fung Keui shop.

Really un-spoilt and pristine. Stayed at Uepi Island, bungalows on the beach and everything on your door step, great food and hospitality. Good luck.
