Wireless modems in Nadi

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

While travelling in Fiji for 3 weeks we will need to telephone ahead for accommodation and may need to contact dive/tour operators. We thought to bring our small netbook and use Skype for this, our mobiles being with Telstra, and we can still keep in touch with family. How easy will it be to get a wireless modem in Nadi, where do we buy it, approx how much will it cost and who is/are the service providers for Fiji? Thanks for all info.

There are 3 or 4 service providers in Fiji.
Vodaphone have a shop in the arrivals hall at the airport and will sell you a modem and prepaid data package for about F$50.
If your 'phone is unlocked you can get a 3G sim for F$4.50 and calls for $2 and up. At least people will be able to call you back on that.

Cheers,
Peter
