Woman traveler alone in Cook Islands??

Hi, I'm going to NZ in February and thinking about taking advantage of the free stop in the Cook Islands. I'll be traveling alone (woman)... any thoughts from ppl who've been there? Is staying in Rarotonga a good idea? On the beach? How long? Is a few days enough?

Any feedback or tips will be so helpful!!

Rarotonga is great. I spent a week there and I could have stayed longer. Bring your snorkel and also bring a rain poncho and an umbrella.
