working around pacific islandsCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Hey guys & gals Im thinking of working my way around the pacific islands from australia (like literally working) from solomans, vanuatu, new calidonia, fiji, samoa, and french polynesia (tahiti etc) for a about a year. Has anyone worked any of these places? if so is there anything workwise there? im guessing maybe only diving but i cant because of a particular medical condition. but ive done marine work before.. any tips or stories like prospects, visa's, etc. would be much appreciated. Thanking you!! cheers Deano
There are very few jobs for foreigners in any of these countries, unless you are prepared to stay for at least a year, and have qualifications in something like teaching or medicine. | 1
And getting work visas might take longer than you have got. Cheers, | 2
There is sometimes work for professions- teaching, medicine, accounting, etc. Pickup work is much more difficult. | 3
