Yasawa Odyssey

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Bula fellow posters.

I'm planning 10 days in the islands come October.

I've researched a bit and plan to stay 4 days on Nacula with my last 3-4 days on Waya.

The 2 or 3 days in between have me in need of a little advice.

I'm a keen snorkeller/ holiday diver and would relish the chance to swim with Mantas.

Wiki Travel tells me that "excellent"snorkelling is to be found off Barefoot Island Lodge(Drawaqa) with conditions @ Manta Ray Resort and Botaira Resort(Naviti) rated as "very good".
Other Yasawa island/accom's snorkelling is mostly rated as "good" at best.

Can anyone compare these accommodations and their natural attributes for me?

While travelling with my trusty backpack, and partial to a cold beverage on a warm day, great snorkelling etc trumps the party vibe for me. Dorms aren't a necessity for me these days either.

Is 2 days enough here and spend a 4th @ Waya(Octopus Resort) or go with the 3 days@ each?

Cheers for any advice.
