Yasawa Resort advice

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

HI-
We (family of 4 with 2 young girls 6 and 8) are traveling to the Yasawas at the end of a month long South Pacific trip in July. My husband and I have been to the Yasawas before and stayed at Nanuya Resort before the new owners. We had a great time and loved the resort. We are looking to spend 5-7 days in the Yasawas this time and are looking for 2 places to stay. We don't want anything too big or crowded. We are interested in snorkeling, swimming, kayaking or paddleboarding, eating good food and relaxing. We don't need a kids club or a pool. So far, Octopus Resort, Coconut Beach Resort, Mantaray Island Resort, Barefoot Kuata Island and going back to Nanuya are on our list Does anyone have any advice on these? We'd like to not spend too much more than $200US a night and would prefer less, if possible.

Thanks!

I have stayed at Octopus Resort twice and can definitely recommend it. The problem will be the cost, as the only accommodation they have in your price range which accommodates the 4 of you would be their premium garden bure, that will be at the top of your $200 budget. You then have to factor in the cost of the compulsory meal package. We were there in July and found the weather to be very comfortable - no need for A/C - the meals are excellent - the beach and snorkeling great- the staff warm and friendly - a fair number of activies(free and paid) - a lovely pool - and cultural activies as well. We also found that there was a nice mix of guests who enjoyed meeting fellow travelers. On the Sunday we were there, children of the staff came by and interacted with the children staying there - everyone seemed to have a good time. Hope this helps!
