Youtube Rocks The South Pacific!!!

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Inside.....

What I'm hoping to do here is have people post the URLs for their favourite South Pacific videos-I've spent a lot of time watching You tube videos but hadn't seen much from the South Pacific until the other night when I hit the Motherlode.

Well I suppose Mother lode is the wrong term-it's more like getting into a groove here are a few personal faves.

Fijian village style- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oXOP1Ij6c8

Rockin' The Cook Islands!

Turn it up -this is a fabulous performance-who knew the Cooks were so much fun?

2

Some very traditional Fijian dancing from that stronghold of Fiji culture-beautiful Kadavu, then a video of a group from distant Rotuma-very old world Polynesian stylee.

Hypnotic, mesmerising are the womens hand movements.

Very Tongan video

Probably the funniest Tongan video you'll ever see and very very typical of the country.

The singer soldiers on-her voice never falters even as mayhem reigns (rains?) around her she is well and truly a Class Act

Support Staff desperately try to rescue the situation it's painfully apparent they have no direction and little idea what to do.

Look at the last frame-the singer finally lets her true feelings show.

WaluWalu---pretty funny video!! (But I guess Gene Kelly and his "Singing in the Rain" dance in that 1950's movie still would win out!)
