5 days in Tuvalu with questions about global warmingCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tuvalu
I live in Wallis (not very far from Fiji and Tuvalu) and would like to go Tuvalu in june by plane from Suva (5 days thursday to tuesday)... Would like to see this small island and to know also how the people living there react to the likely disappearance of their country in a few years...Anybody know if except government, there are organizations there which fight against rising waters? Do u know if the people are ready to speak about the issue ? do u think for 5 days, it's interesting to stay in the main island ?
Tuvalu is not likely to disappear within a few years. I found that most people there cared little or nothing about this issue and many (most?) didn't believe it at all. Life just goes on normally. | 1
Thanks Laszlo for your feeling... i found on internet a french-tuvaluan organisation "Alofa Tuvalu" http://www.alofatuvalu.tv/index.html which try to do something on the issue... I will see... | 2
I wrote it up here: For Funafuti only, 5 days sounds OK. | 3
Maybe go to Kiribati? Cheers, | 4
