Updated Tuvalu Info?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tuvalu
Does anyone have updated contact info for hotels / B&Bs on Tuvalu? The official "Timeless Tuvalu" website is not entirely up to date. I tried contacting the gov officials listed there for updated info, but my emails bounced back. It seems that not even their contact info is current. In particular, I'm looking for the current e-mails / phone / or fax for Hideaway Guest House and Filamona B&B. Thanks.
I would like to know if anyone knows current (updated) contact information for B&Bs in Funafuti, Tuvalu. The official Tuvalu tourism website is not entirely up to date, and some e-mail addresses listed there are no longer accurate. If anyone has recently been to a B&B in Funafuti I would be interested to learn how you contacted them to arrange reservations. | 1
Hi Mezzofanti, I stayed at the Filamona Lodge on May 2012 and I booked via this eMail adress: the.filamonalodge@yahoo.com Sometimes there have been delays for several days, until I got a response, but every eMail I sent was answered. Cheers, | 2
Hi Mezzofanti, The Filamona lodge is a good bet with the email address given above by Marcus72. I am currently on the outer islands of Tuvalu at the moment for a few weeks, but if you are still looking for information, let me know and I will speak to the relevant people for you. Cheers, Andy | 3
The Filamona is a good place to stay in Funafuti. Being right next to the airport (as in "at" the airport, although this does not mean much in tiny tiny Funafuti) you may want to simply walk the 50 meters from the airport building and check in with or without prior reservation (as I did last year). The fact that the owner of the Filamona is connected to the Tuvalu government may help you getting running water in times of water shortages (which is a regular occurrence in Funafuti). | 4
