Air Vanuatu

I cancelled an Air Vanuatu internal flight while I was in Vanuatu in mid-March.
I have beeb waiting for a refund . I have spoken to an airline spokesman twice who says it will happen - it just takes time!
I have been told this is because I paid with an Amex CC.
Has anyone else had a similar experience getting a refund from this airline?

I had to cancel an internal flight in Solomon Islands because the airline cancelled the service due to the condition of the runway, and I was leaving the country before the next scheduled service. I had paid by credit card, but could only get a cash refund which involved personally going to 3 separate offices all over town myself to get paperwork signed.
If I was you, I would contact American Express.

Just a follow up to say that I have received my refund - in full - from AIR VANUATU.
It took 6 weeks as they said.

We are having a problem obtaining a refund for a flight, which Air Vanuatu cancelled between Port Vila and Ulei in April 2012. After making formal application in Port Vila and waiting more than 4 months with many subsequent attempts to communicate with Air Vanuatu about this matter, we are still trying to get an acknowledgement of our application for a refund! At the end of a lovely holiday this has been very disappointing.
