Booking flights with www.airvanuatu.com

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Vanuatu

Hi Guys

I want to book some internal flights and I'm wondering if it is safe to book via www.airvanuatu.com or should I rather get a travel agent to do it or call Air vanuatu and book over the phone. I am just not sure how reliable the website is in terms of flights availability. I don't want to buy a ticket to find out the flight is actually full.

What is your experience?

Cheers
Magda

I rang their office in Australia - Brisbane - on 1300780737 - and booked.Easy.However as you can see by my post I cancelled the flight and am having trouble with getting a refund.
Another thing, I believe that if do not fly to Vanuatu with Air Vanuatu there wil be a baggage limit of 10 Ks on internal flights with AV- you will then have to pay extra if you exceed it..

Having a booked and paid for ticket may not necessarily guarantee you a seat, although having a booked ticket out of the country will give you a better chance of having a seat. Get to the airport early to check in for your flight.

Ive flown with them twice internally & both times i have booked just the day before & had no issues at all. As Ozziegiraffe mentioned though, its always a good idea not to be last to check in.

Concerning the same question asked by OP, I would like to ask if it is advisable to purchase a ticket via the Air Vanuatu website before arriving the country.
I would like to fly on the following day of my arrival to Tanna and I doubt whether I should make the purchase of the ticket in advance prior to my landing in Port Vila.
What do you suggest?
