We'll be in Port Vila on Christmas day. Will anything be open in the way of shops, food etc? Or will it be pretty much a ghost town?

Go to one of the local churches and enjoy the singing.

GHOST TOWN ! !

Everything will be shut except the Chinese. Maybe you could stop by Chu Store and Chu the Phat or something. ( It's up the hill behind Olympic Hotel on the left )

A small follow up.

Get whatever groceries you want for Christmas Day and Boxing Day EARLY. Everything but the chinese shops shuts at noon on Christmas Eve. The resort dining rooms will all stay open. Vila will be a ghost town by 2 pm Christmas Eve.
