| randszi19:25 UTC16 Oct 2007 | I was wondering about duty free in vanuatu, is there a few shops of duty free, and is it more/less than here in australia. We are cruising the islands is 7 hours enough to a bit around vanuatu. I have my children with us and i wondering if some one could help us with some great tours, like going to see the young children and how they live, something like village tours. i think that would be great for our children to see.
Kind regards
Suze

Assuming you are going into Port Villa 7 Hours would give you enough time to have a look around the Port Villa area , you would not want to go to far from there as the roads are so bad it would take 7 hours to drive around the island of Efate. There is a local village just opposite the Hideaway Island Resort and the Mele Cultural village in the same area as well as a hike to the Cascade waterfall. When we took the local taxi into town from Hideaway we went through the village, you may be able to get a taxi driver from the village who would let your children interact with the local children but you would have to ask around to get a suitable contact.
