hotel transfer?

hi again

another question... i notice most of the accomodations offer airport transfers, i also notice that they are quite expensive when they are not that far away form the airport? What im wondering is, is it easy to get a cab from the airport? and would that work out cheaper then the huge like $30 transfers (that charge per person!)

Definately, taxis are cheap in Port Vila. The only problem is that you may not have vatu with you to pay the cabbie. When we arrived at the airport the ATM was out of order so could only get vatu at the ANZ ATM in town.

unless you arrive late at night you can just walk down the road and catch a bus or even just wait for one at the airport. Costs 100 vatu (US$1)

The taxi fare is likely to be 1500-2000 VT to most resorts. Anticipate about 1500 if they're in town (eg: Melanesian) and 2000 if they're a bit further out (eg: Poppys).
