Le Lagon Resort V's Iriki Island ResortCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Vanuatu
I am going to Vanuatu for the first time and after loads of researched I have narrowed it down to staying at either Le Lagon Resort or Iriki Island Resort. They both look/sound fantastic but I just can't deciede which one to go for! I was hoping some of you that have been there maybe able to help. My situation just so you have an idea of what I'm after............. I am travelling with my mum and we are after a casual relaxed holiday. Some days just chilling out at the resort enjoying the swimming/snorkling and activities. Some days going on a few tours to have a look around. Now a few questions which would help me out......... Which of the 2 has better swimming/snorkling? Le lagon looks to have a nice lagoon and Iriki looks to have some lovely water around it (being an island and all). Are they both good (and safe) water wise or is one particularly better than the other? Next thing is the cost, is there much price difference I wonder? Which has nicer rooms? From what I can gather Iriki has newer rooms (Snorklers Cove) plus the other rooms from the original section. I'm thinking Snorklers Cove may be a little exey so are the older rooms still quite nice? Which has better food, taste and value wise? I have read Le Lagon has a meal package (how much is this?) Also have ready with Iriki you can just go over to Vila and eat for variety. And basically just anything in general about both these resorts would be a great help! Gosh so much to think about !! It's so hard when you have not been before. Thanks, Chezzi
Definitely Iririki. It would be a bit more expensive than Le Lagon but well worth it. We stayed there three years ago before Snorkeller's Cove was built in a harbour view fare and can't wait to go back. We found a lot of the other resorts were out of town and travel was an extra cost to get into Port Vila. With Iririki you can get on the free ferry any time of the day or night and you are almost in the main street of Vila and can walk to any of the other restaurants, shops etc. You can come and go as you want. The food at Iririki was excellent. I really can't recommend it highly enough. We are hoping to go back to Vanuatu in the near future and would not consider staying anywhere else. Make sure you both have a massage in the spa - just wonderful. I think we would still stay in one of the fares (they are very well equipped and comfortable) rather than at Snorkeller's Cove. | 1
