Lifestyle for expat

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Vanuatu

I get interviewed for a position in Vanuatu soon. Santo, Luganville, I think.

any idea of the lifestyle for an expat?

I lived in Tonga, how does it compare?

Haven't been there, Harry, but you might want to check to see if swords and daggers are usually carried around by hotel managers!

Let us know how the job search turns out---

Ah yes, very wary of sharp implements in Chinese hands.

It's Sales Manager for a real estate firm, First National.

I've never sold real estate in my life, so I am wondering what they see in me.

Get in contact with Oyster Island Resort (out of Luganville) via their website and e-mail Jean Pierre and Anna. They are French and have lived there for so long they are stalwarts of the community. They may be able to help with contacts for you.

thanks guys.

after the interview request from them, I never heard from them again.

So First National Santo are a pack of liars.

Missed out on Kiribati, too.

ah well.

Harry, there are often jobs available at hotels in the Cooks, but it's sporadic. You may have mentioned one in the past that you checked out. The Development Investment Board, which may be changing it's name, used to have a jobs list. But it would be fun for 6 months to a year.

Thanks Raro,. The Rarotongan Resort are constantly advertising on seek. Must be buggers to work for.
