G'day, | ||
Hi There, We are above 55 yo, and decided to do the Millennium Cave Tour in Santo. My wife has a very weak knee and I was worried she couldn’t handle the challenge. As preparation prior departure, we were doing one hour power walk a day, and also some steps up to a lookout in my local area. People told me the track takes 4 hours and it was a very difficult one. Wrong !!! It takes 6 hours round trip. It was little hard for my wife (and for me too sometimes) but with no dramas for both of us. Just some muscular pain the day after. Both of us love it and wanted to do it again. The guide stops 2 or 3 times along the track for a rest, but if you want, just ask and they will stop as many times as you need. Only the last part is very demanding, when you get out of the river and have to climb a 60 degrees gorge wall. That one Is hard, but no problem if you go up slow as a turtle. (we did That). The guide stopped at least 10 times to wait for us. No problems. They will help you along the way if needed. Take a bottle of water and some fruits or sandwiches for lunch. Don’t take your camera unless it is water proof (no waterproof cameras are collected before entering the cave and handle back by the end of the tour - or they will be wet). Reef shoes is a good idea. Make sure with the weather report the day will be fine prior booking. (if rain along the way the tour is cancelled). It is one of the most fantastic adventure tours one can experience in life. Hope it helps. If you need more details just ask. Signed : Indiana Jones. (this is my new name after this tour). Cheers. Roger. | 1 | |
