How can I find out the dates of the Nagol ceremony on Pentecost Island in 2008?

Well, it's a major drawing card for organized tours, so I guess travel agencies based in Vila should know when to go. Email them telling you're interested in joining a tour to see it (even if you aren't).

Guesthouses in southern Pentecost should also know - if you could be bothered to try and reach any by phone.

Nagol (land diving) will begin early this year with the first jump starting in Pangi on March 12th. This will be a day the cruise ship comes. There will be about 10 other random days until June/July where cruise ships will dock in Pagni and there will be nagol. Otherwise there is usually nagol every Saturday and soemtimes Wednesday at the airport, Lonorore. Currently the airport is being renovated to become a blacktop so that there will be more flights, bigger planes, and no worry about the rain forcing you to have a longer stay on the Island. It is half completed now.
However I do persoanlly recommend calling a guesthouse in the South and staying there and having them set up a time to watch nagol. They will also be able to show you many other great things to do in the south.
There are Clement's Nak Guesthouse, Chief Willy's Nagol Bungalows they can be reached through tour agencies in Vila or a simple call when you arrive in Vila to 38327, 38120, 38444. A day or two of advance notice is fine and they will take good care of you.
