other places to stay

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Vanuatu

I have been to vanuatu before but would like to stay somewhere not so commercialised as some of the "Le Legoon types" hotels. We are also going to tanna(all booked) so are happy to stay on the mainland for a while. We have a 9 yr old so we would like it child friendly
Has anyone tried the Blue water resort ? Are there any other towns other than Port villa ?
Any ideas for fishing for my husband. We all luv snorkelling.
Any suggestion all apreciated

Hi Debbie,
I would highly recommend Bethel Village on the other side of Efate, near Ekipe, as a great experience for your family. Children are very welcome and the whole village will be happy to share their culture with you. The snorkelling is fantastic, very private, you will probably have the whole bay to yourselves. At the moment fishing on this coast is tabu, the area declared off limits by Ekipe chiefs so that stock can replenish itself over the next 2 and a half years. The meals are excellent and there is a constant stream of snacks such as sugar cane sticks, coconut, watermelon etc. Cabins are clean and well priced. Check it out on the net. Joel will arrange trransfers for you too. You can ring Joel Amos direct on 678 25161
Happy travels,
Jo
