| ninataka17:22 UTC17 Aug 2007 | Hi all,
Hoping to go to Vanautu at the end of November. Surprised there are only 3 pages worth of posts here on the TT (all good stuff, of course, and - hint to others - don't miss the two brilliant posts from Mandja and Lizardo in the FAQ).
I've pretty much decided on a day in Port Vila on first arrival, then Tanna for 5 days, then a couple of days on Efate at the end. Time in Tanna to be split between Evergreen Bungalows and either Port Res YC or Friendly Bungalows. PRYC sounds amazing and perfect for someone travelling alone (variety and plenty of places to visit on foot). BUT FOR ONE THING.
I don't mind basic, and I'm not that fussed about food, but is it true that there is only one toilet? This is a critical point for me so I'm hoping someone can tell me either that an extra one has been added, or that there's a long drop somewhere as backup!
Also, if I went for a bit longer, I'm thinking of adding either Maleluka or Epi? Any thoughts on their relative merits. Or, as I can see they are north of Efate and Tanna is south, how about Erromango?
I like to snorkel, explore, and just chill out in a hammock with a good book. If there's anything going involving a boat trip that would be excellent. No longer up for long hikes.
Cheers.

More Vanuatu stuff at Here

The bungalows and amenities are very basic and very adequate also. The surroundings are amazing and that's what you go for. Be prepared to ask for what you want to visit and a guide will take you for a few dollars.
