santo-epi-vila travel advice?

Hi all,

I would be grateful for any advice anyone could give for best ways to travel from santo to epi then to vila around the end of december, early january. Are there any direct flights or are boats the way to go? I've had a look at the Air Vanuatu website but all a bit confusing!
And any suggestions for good mid range accommodation wouldn't go a miss. Or good fun activities?

There are several boats that go from Santo to Vila via Epi. You could get one to Epi, get off there and stay for a while, then get the next one to Vila. One of them leaves Santo on Monday night. There's another one called Fresh Cargo but I can't remember what day it leaves Santo. I think it may be Sunday or Monday too. They're not all that reliable though, and are dirty, overcrowded and with no beds even if it's overnight. You just have to find a place to sleep, for example on top of some sacks of cargo. Great way to meet local people though.
