SCUBA in Vanuatu

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Vanuatu

Been reading the threads on Vanuatu (travelling there in early Jan) but have yet to find much info on SCUBA diving opportunities. I realise most accom is quite primitive (suits me fine) and therefore may not have faclities to hire gear and fill tanks, but I was wondering if there are any areas/resorts where the diving is good from the shore and there are dive facilities on site.

TIA

There is diving off Espiritu Santo Island, and dive operators in Luganville that do rentals and dive trips. There are two dive operators, Aquamarine and Santo Dive Tours. I did several dives to the SS President Coolidge with Aquamarine, they were excellent.

Check out Dive Adventures for some more info on diving around Vanuatu.

Only Vila and Luganville have dive facilities. Fear not - the SS President Coolidge is one of the best dives in the world and you can do it a hundred times and see something new!

Youll see the dive operators in town.

In Vila head down to Nabawan Cafe and organise you dives there - great crew. Lots of wrecks - but I would recommend a nite dive
